Ethics and Sustainability
The Joe Box strives to be at the forefront of sustainability. It is an evolving business but the principles will always remain the same. The aim is to have the most minimal impact on the planet as possible whilst supporting local businesses and providing the best quality coffee, tea and sweet treats.
The Coffee
Coffee is provided by the Tunbridge Wells Coffee Roastery. All coffee is ethically sourced and hand-roasted to order. This assures you of the freshest coffee in your cup.

The Milk
Milk is a vital ingredient in many coffee drinks, so it is important that it is fresh, high quality and sustainable. Chiddingstone Dairy provide milk to The Joe Box in glass bottles, helping to eradicate waste. They believe that happy cows produce high-quality milk, and that the happiest cows are those who are free to roam the lush green fields of the Kentish countryside, grazing on grass as nature intended.
Free-range, top quality milk, locally produced and with no waste - what could be better?

The Cakes
Cakes, brownies and flapjacks are provided by Baketastic, a local bakery in Speldhurst, a small business with a passion for high-quality homemade cakes. The Joe Box is proud to support another local business that shares a passion for quality and sustainability.

The Joe Box
The Joe Box was imagined and created by James Farley. The conversion from a horse trailer into a mobile coffee bar was a massive undertaking but is finally complete. It began and ended with the theme of sustainability and every effort has been made to make this a reality.
All electrical power comes from huge solar panels on the roof.
Produce is locally sourced wherever possible and food/drink miles are kept to a minimum.
Cups are fully compostable and drink cans are all recycled.
The Joe Box does not sell water in plastic bottles. If you would like water, just ask and it will be provided for free from the dedicated filtered water tap. Add ice if you like, it's been made by power from the sun!
There are no sugar packets to cause litter, The Joe Box has invested in a sugar dispenser instead.
All trades-people, such as gas safety, electrical safety and even a welder were chosen from local businesses.
The Joe Box aims to have zero landfill waste. If you would like to know more or would like to discuss having it at your event, please call, or email james@thejoebox.com
